Dr. Jeff Coy
I’ve been blessed to treat a large age range, ranging from 2 months old with colic to 98 years old with general aches and pains. I have been able to treat all walks of life from individuals who are retired to those currently working and to the professional athlete. I have also been blessed to be able to treat a large range of conditions ranging from headaches and TMJ problems to plantar fasciitis.
Some of the more commonly occurring conditions from individuals working in the yard, golfers, and the weekend Warriors include lower back pain, sciatica, radiating pain into the buttocks and leg. Probably one of the most common conditions coming in is coming from spending a lot of time on the computer. The symptoms include pain around the shoulder blade, shoulder pain, radiating pain into the arm, neck pain and may include headaches, as may be expected this is usually the right arm and shoulder.
Other conditions that I’ve been able to treat, which may seem like non-chiropractic conditions have included ankle pain, knee pain, hip pain, elbow pain, and the above-mentioned shoulder pain and TMJ.
One of the things that I may do differently from others is that I schedule 1 person at a time. I always thought it was strange when I went into a doctor’s office and there were 4 people also scheduled at the same time as my appointment. I have always scheduled 1 person at a time since opening in 1988. I hate to wait and I hate to make people wait with that I do stay on time.
I also give individualized care and treatment. I do a lot of muscle work getting the muscles to relax getting the individual to relax; this makes adjusting and holding the adjustments so much easier.

Interview with Dr. Coy
Dr. Coy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I opened in October of 1988. I have always wanted to help people and chiropractic did that for me and I want to do that for others. I was in an automobile accident and went over six months of therapy, pain killers, and muscle relaxants with very little change. It wasn’t until I went to a chiropractor that I got any results. It was with this that I changed my focus from optometry to chiropractic and have been practicing for over 28 years.
Has it been a smooth road?
There have been lots of bumps. Chiropractic is thought of last, by many people, when it comes to health care. Most people go to the medical doctor and come to us when that plan fails or “as the last resort.” Plus with the constantly changing landscape and uncertainty with the government health care “plans” people are very reluctant to do much of anything.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Coy Chiropractic story. Tell us more about the business.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
More and more people, still much smaller than it should be, are finding out that chiropractic has something to offer everyone. With the increasing push to make and/or keep us healthy; people are discovering that consistent regular chiropractic care can make that possible.
Everyone gets used to there “norm” and when they discover that their “norm” can be even better, than those are the people who come in regularly. Even before they “think” they need care.
